R Discovery August Updates: Break the Cycle of Searching for Research

Last week, we talked about the new launches at R Discovery in July 2021 that will help you save time and enjoy reading even more.

A CACTUS solution under the Researcher.Life ecosystem, R Discovery leverages AI to personalize your literature search by curating research papers from your topics of interest. To set up your personalized feed, all you need to do is spend a minute to select your topics. This intuitive tool will then identify the top three research papers for you to read every day.

In this post, we talk about the improvements in August 2021 within R Discovery.

See research that’s just out first

Now you can see the latest research from your topics, published in the last 0-6 months, at the top of your feed.

Try it out now!

Papers older than 6 months appear in the Relevant Reads section, just below your Top Reads.

Get full text reads on Mondays

We understand how disappointing it can be when you are unable to access the full text of a paper you want to read. So every Monday, we sort through our database to bring you a curated list of 5 papers from your topics that have full text access. You can save them to read later, one for each day of your work-week. Look out for our Monday evening notifications bearing full text papers for you.

If you don’t receive our Monday notification every week, try adding more topics so we can find more full text matches for you. At the same time, make sure your app is updated to the latest version from Google Play or the App Store.

Sign in to the app with just one tap

We’ve launched another time-saving feature: One-tap sign-in (or sign-up). If you use the same email address to sign in to R Discovery and to your Google account, you can sign in to the R Discovery app with just one tap. This feature is available on both Android and iOS.

A note of caution: If you enter a different email address, you may end up with two R Discovery accounts.

More from R Discovery

Did you know that R Discovery is also available as a website? And that you can enjoy the app experience on your desktop too?

All you need to do is open the website from your Chrome browser and look to the right side of the address bar. Just next to the bookmark icon is the install icon. Click on it to download the PWA version of the website to your desktop.

Thereafter, whenever you want to access R Discovery, just click on the Discovery shortcut on your desktop to have an app-like experience!

All your search and reading history, bookmarks, and other preferences are saved in your account and can be accessed from any device.

R Discovery is one among Researcher.Life’s ecosystem of solutions for the forward-looking researcher. Thoughtfully designed for busy researchers like you and powered by sophisticated AI, our solutions combine cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of your complex world.
