R Discovery February Updates: Unified Search Experience

February was marked by the launch of several important features at R Discovery, that will take your reading experience several notches higher. Take a quick look!

Unified search that gets you what you’re looking for

The new unified search experience is one of the most anticipated upgrades to the app. You can now look for relevant research by topic, journal, or paper title. You can narrow your search results by applying filters such as journal, author, time since publication, or open access. You can also sort your search results by relevance or recency. If you have added your institute on our app, you can see the full text of papers published in journals that your institute is subscribed to. You can also easily retrieve your last 3 searches.

Apart from this, you can amplify your research with our recommendations on topics that are closely related to your interests – this will help you discover relevant research that might miss your eye otherwise.

Try it out now!

Open PDF files in the app without downloading

To have a smoother reading experience, you can now open the PDF files of open access papers in the PDF viewer mode – you no longer need to download the file. Using the scroll bar at the bottom, you can jump to any page of the document that you wish to read.

Save time by reading highlights and summaries

Highlights summarize the main findings of a paper in 5-10 bulleted points. They can help you decide whether the paper is worth your time or not. Highlights are currently available only for open access papers with the CC-BY license.
