Earlier this month, R Discovery, a Researcher.Life solution by Cactus Communications, partnered with SAGE Publishing (named after its founders, SAra and GEorge), a global academic publisher of a wide range of books, journals, and a library of products and services. This strategic partnership will enable more than R Discovery 2 million users to read paper abstracts within the app, directly on their research feeds. Once they identify the most relevant research papers, they will then be re-directed to the journal’s website to access the full-text paper from all renowned SAGE journals.
Commenting on the partnership, Abhishek Goel, CEO & Co-founder, CACTUS, said, “Our collaboration with SAGE is a step towards creating an integrated ecosystem and helping all users globally to get more relevant and authentic content directly from source. With R Discovery’s capabilities, this move will help researchers globally to find the right content, save time, and improve the quality of their research.”
R Discovery brings together over 100 million research papers and more than 32,000 journals in its rich and continually expanding research library. With the Discovery app, academics get to search from over 9.5 million research topics across all major subject areas, including biology, medicine, philosophy, political science, environmental science, social sciences and psychology. In addition to the pay-walled articles, which can be accessed via one’s university credentials, R Discovery hosts more than 39 million open-access articles and 2 million preprints, making it the largest open-access research repositories on the go.
On the other hand, SAGE Publishing produces resources that are designed to help instructors train the next generation of citizens, policymakers, educators, and researchers. They believe in the idea that social and behavioral science can make a positive impact on society. To achieve this goal, they prioritize the publication of research that can make a difference, promoting strong research methodology, and creating educational resources of the highest quality. Annually, they publish over 1,000 journals and 600 new books worldwide, as well as a variety of library resources such as archives, data, case studies, videos, and technology tools for discovery, access, and engagement.
“At SAGE, we are committed to increasing the transparency and accessibility of scientific research so that it has the best chance of creating impact within the scholarly community and beyond, said Lorianne Sarsfield, Publishing Editor, Abstracting & Indexing, SAGE Publishing. Our partnership with R Discovery will help more researchers find the content that they need from SAGE quickly and effectively.”
