So how can you search through this academic journal database?
With so much on offer, you can be forgiven for being confused on how to find your journal. It’s simple; you can choose between four modes of search basis your needs.
1. Search by journal title or either of the ISSN
This is a straightforward search where you either know the title of the journal or one of its ISSNs. This mode of search also gives you result basis the presence of your chosen keyword within the title of the journal, for e.g., a search for the keyword “Science” will show all three – the journal “Science,” the journal “Science of Remote Sensing,” and the journal “Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews” among more than 2,000 journals with the word “Science” in their titles.
2. Search by topics
If you have just started on a new research project or are simply curious about the latest research published in your subject area, you can start your journey of exploration with journals that focus on a specific research topic. To get the best results from our journal database using this option, search for topics of interest from over 10 million topics that have been identified within our database. Once you confirm your list of (maximum 10) topics, you will be shown a list of journals that publish articles on those research topics.
3. Search by abstract
If you do not wish to spend time searching a list of topics that best represent your research, let our AI do its magic. Just provide a summary of your research in the assigned input field and click on the button to find journals best matched to your research. Make sure the summary of your research contains sufficient information within the text for our AI to correctly interpret the themes discussed in your research. You can also use the abstract of your in-progress manuscript, if possible.
4. Search by manuscript
This mode of search can be extremely useful in cases where you have finished writing the first draft of your manuscript and are currently looking for journals to submit your research. Much like searching by abstract, this mode of search allows you to upload a draft of your manuscript and let our AI understand the key themes in your work in order to suggest journals that would be a good fit for your research Please be assured that your research is completely safe and will not be shared with anyone. Our systems follow strict quality and security management standards and are ISO-certified: ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
How do I refine the search results?
Once the search results are generated, you can filter the search results based on the following parameters:
- Whether a journal is open access
- Journal metrics like Citescore, Impact Factor, SJR, etc.
- Public directories that the journal is indexed in
- Frequency of publishing
- Publisher name
Page BreakIf required, you can also choose to remove each filter separately by opening the filter and clicking on Clear link. You can also remove all the filters at once by clicking on Clear All at the top of filters.
The number mentioned at the top of the list of search results is the number of results available after applying all of the filters that you choose.
How to edit my search in the journal database
If you are not satisfied with the search result even after adding the required filters, you can edit your input through the ‘Edit this search’ option at the top of the screen. You will be able to see your initial search input in a popup on the screen. You can add to, remove, or simply edit your input and search again.
