This year, it will be held from October 25 through 31.<\/p>\n<p>Open Access Week is a scholarly communications event during which several interesting and insightful discussions on open access are hosted both offline and online. <a href=\"https:\/\/discovery.researcher.life\/?utm_source=contentmarketing&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=discovery-rblog-OA_AMA_upcoming_event--row\">R Discovery<\/a>\u2014an AI-based literature-search app developed by Cactus Communications\u2014is happy to invite you to participate in an <strong>AMA<\/strong> (Ask Me Anything), where you can <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=c4gtdnfXf067a-TSzMyjEo_1lJwtPFVKhlJLZdwg1LBUQ09KVzBBNkVQVlQxRlAzSkZHWkVYQlk5OC4u\">send us any questions<\/a> on open access <strong>until Oct 22<\/strong>, and we will have a panel of experts share written responses to them. The questions as well as panelist responses will be published in a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.editage.com\/insights\/?utm_source=contentmarketing&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=discovery-rblog-OA_AMA_upcoming_event--row\">Editage Insights<\/a> on <strong>Oct 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The levels of awareness related to open access and the extent of adoption of the open access publishing model vary widely across regions. Caroline was one of the founding members of the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), where she served on the Board until September 2021. \u00a0Since 2016 she has served on numerous boards and advisory committees within the Open Access and Open Research space, including Chair and member of the Board of Directors of Dryad and as Director with IS4OA (the parent organisation housing the DOAJ), and the Scientific Advisory Board of CESSDA. She was one of the early adopters of open access publishing, having co-founded Co-Action Publishing in 2016, which is now a part of the Taylor &amp; Francis family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vrushali Dandawate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1231 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.researcher.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Vrushali-Dandawate-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.researcher.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Vrushali-Dandawate-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blog.researcher.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Vrushali-Dandawate-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.researcher.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Vrushali-Dandawate.jpg 576w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vrushali is Head Librarian at AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra, India, and she holds a Ph.D. degree from Reva University, Bangalore, India. Her research topic is \u201cOpen Access E -Resources Development in Asia: A Study.\u201d Vrushali was the winner of the ALCTS Online Course Grant for Library Professionals from Developing Countries in 2014 and the INASP open access week competition in both 2015 and 2016. She was invited to OpenCon 2017 in Berlin, Germany, and subsequently worked as a member of the organizing committee for OpenCon 2018 in Toronto, Canada. She also served as an advisory committee member for Open Access Week 2018\u20132019. She has been selected as an advisory committee member of OpenDOAR and conference committee member of the FORCE2021 Conference, and she is DOAJ ambassador for India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Stammer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1230 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.researcher.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Andrew-Stammer-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Andrew Stammer is Director of CSIRO Publishing, the editorially independent publisher owned by Australia\u2019s science research agency, the CSIRO. He serves on the Boards of the Australian Publishers Association and of STM the leading global trade association for academic and professional publishers. Previously, he has sold, marketed and commissioned books for various multi-national publishers.
